Responseline operates from our Information Centre based in the UK, providing technical interpretations and practical advice on health, safety and environmental issues which include:

The Responseline service consists of four elements:

The key to providing such a comprehensive service is the experience and qualifications of the staff and the information sources available. Responseline is staffed by experienced, professional health, safety and environmental consultants and information specialists.

Behind the scenes, Responseline staff have at their disposal the latest comput-erised data retrieval systems, extensive library resources and immediate access to details of legislative developments, in the UK, Eire, the EU and Canada. They have full access to the Internet for worldwide information.

Staff are trained to access over 500 external databases. The information can vary from details on the effects of chemicals, to the ability to search the world's newspapers for the last 15 years.

The Responseline Manager continually monitors and evaluates new software systems in response to the changing needs of our clients.

Each day we receive a list of all Government press releases from the Central Office of information. This list is monitored for any health, safety and environmental issues. We also subscribe to all the major journals in our field, and gather weekly details of newly published textbooks from international booksellers.

• Responseline News is our regular news bulletin. It covers news of legislative changes, important court cases and reports on a variety of topics.
• Responseline Guidance Notes are produced regularly, to explain the main points of incoming legislation, or to provide additional advice on questions which are commonly asked of the Responseline service.
• Responseline Updates contain urgent news and are faxed overnight to clients.
